10:37am: Video of the NOW! Episode #16

30th December 2008

3:27pm: theology

I recently did a huge personal study on eschatology, and with the help of the holy spirit, conquer all the questions I had regarding it. I learned that the doctrine of pre-tribulation rapture originated in the 1830s with a vision from a teenage girl, Darby took this vision and misinterpreted scripture to support it. We are supposed to read scripture first and form our beliefs thereafter. Not form beliefs and try to use scripture to back it up.

I think it's awesome that the church used to take joy in suffering for Christ through tribulation. It was an honor, like dieing for a lover. I want that joy, I'm seeking it. The church in the last 200 years has sought to bring about this easy does it method where we are going to be delivered from trials and tribulation. I think this way of thinking is quite foolish. We all suffer, for anyone to be so arrogant to think that they shouldn't have to suffer saddens me. It's how we suffer that is important, we as Christians are to find great joy in suffering, knowing that through our suffering the most this world can take from us is our flesh but never our souls. So awesome.

I find myself having to know everything. Most of the time this folly causes me to turn from the Lord. I begin to doubt the Lord and don't except his mysteries. I'm learning to except some things and understand that if I could explain God in full or define him completely, he wouldn't be worth worshiping because he would be very minimal in holiness.

On that note, I am beginning the task of studying the doctrines of Pelagianism, Arminianism, and Calvinism for the sole purpose of finding truth behind predestination. What I have found so far is quite hard to swallow, but I always strive to remember that God's plan is continuously perfect and loving and who am I to question and counsel God. (Romans 9:20)

Mark Twain said, "It's not the things I don't understand in the Bible that bother me, it's the things I do understand!"

It takes a regenerated heart to want to swallow any of this. And even after regeneration, with continuous attacks from the enemy, I sit there and doubt all of it sometimes. I went through a few years of determination to prove it all wrong, I couldn't. The grace of God always pulls me back. Amen.

1:41pm: Don't settle for happiness, aim for joy.
Joy comes from within; joy is not dependent upon the people in your life, or the possessions you accumulate or what happening to you right now.

God says I'll find joy, when you I trust that he's in control and working to use the good - and the bad - of my life for a greater purpose.

This I need to remember, everyday.

I hope you all had a great holiday, love you guys.

Oh Christ when You're ready to come back
I think I'm ready for You to come back
But if You want to stay wherever exactly it is You are,
That's okay too - it's really none of my business.
If I didn't have You as my guide I'd still be wandering lost in Sinai
Or down by the tracks watching trains go by to remind me:
There are places that aren't here.
I had a well but all the water left
So I'll ask Your forgiveness with every breath,
If there was no way into God,
I would never have laid in this grave of a body for so long, dear.

12:22pm: I had to the sudden appetite to look through the photos. I guess I needed to remember you with her. Just a nostalgic moment. As I stared at the numerous stills of your perfection together, absent of polarity, I realized the damaging element of your tattered soul.
You're still in love with her, and can not convince yourself it will ever be any different.
I imagine I would be a wretch too.

4:43pm: taking a break from your usual programming

All atheists posit what's called a universal negative. A universal negative requires absolute knowledge (omniscience) whereas a universal positive may not require that.

For instance, let's say I am in a building with 4 rooms, and I have only been in 1 room. In order to say that every room is empty, I would have to have knowledge of all 4 rooms. I would need to know the entirety of what I am claiming to know.

However, to state the opposite, that the building is not empty, I would at the very least only need to know about one room.

So, in essence, any time an atheist claims that there is absolutely no God, they are claiming absolute and full knowledge of the universe (omniscience). If they are not claiming absolute knowledge, than they are going off of faith, but in fact, since they could never EVER know for sure that universal negative, then they are requiring much more faith than a person who claims there is a God (because finding out if there is a God may not require absolute knowledge).

But hey, I don't need to say it, it was written quite a long time ago "the fool says in his heart 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1)
